The 6 Days Kilimanjaro Umbwe Route follows a steep and scenic path on the southern side of Mount Kilimanjaro. The journey begins in dense rainforest and gradually moves through moorland and alpine landscapes. An extra day on the route allows better altitude adjustment before the summit attempt. The trail connects with the Machame Route at Barranco Camp, leading to a well-supported climb to Uhuru Peak and a gradual descent through the rainforest

Arrival Day

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you are met by our team and transferred to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha. The day is for rest, a trip briefing, and a final gear check to prepare for the climb. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel are included

Day 01 :

Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Camp

Elevation: 1,600 m - 2,850 m
Distance: 11 km
Walking Hours: 6–7 hours

The hike begins through dense rainforest with a steep and narrow trail. The forest is rich in vegetation and birdlife. Overnight at Umbwe Camp

Umbwe Camp to Barranco Camp

The trail climbs along a ridge with open views. You move from forest to moorland terrain before reaching Barranco Camp, located below the Barranco Wall.

You climb slowly to Stella Point and continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After photos, you descend to Mweka Camp for overnight rest.

The final descent passes through rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you receive your summit certificate and transfer back to the hotel.
