With years of hands-on experience in high-altitude trekking and mountain guiding, he has built Tanzania Hiking on a strong foundation of safety, professionalism, and authentic local expertise.
Born and raised in Tanzania, Khaled Mkumba developed a deep connection to the country’s mountains and wilderness at an early age. His passion for Mount Kilimanjaro and other East African peaks inspired him to create a company that not only delivers successful climbs but also uplifts local communities and promotes responsible tourism.
As CEO, Khaled Mkumba is actively involved in route planning, guide training, and operational standards, ensuring every expedition meets international safety practices while maintaining a personal touch. Under his leadership, Tanzania Hiking has successfully guided climbers from around the world to iconic destinations including Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru, Mount Kenya, Ol Doinyo Lengai, the Rwenzori Mountains, and the Usambara Mountains.

At Tanzania Hiking, Kasara is responsible for developing strategic partnerships, managing international inquiries, and ensuring every client receives clear communication, expert guidance, and personalized support from the first point of contact to the end of their journey. His market insight and customer-focused approach help travelers choose the right routes, itineraries, and services with confidence.
